Many systems. One response.

02 An event in WinGuard

This is how it really works.

Keep scrolling. In four steps, a door message becomes a guided, documented response.

In an emergency, seconds count. WinGuard makes sure your team does not lose them searching, but uses them to act.

03 Why WinGuard

Built open. Designed for emergencies.

WinGuard is a vendor-neutral security management system, known internationally as PSIM. It does not replace your systems, it brings them together.

Open to your manufacturers

Dedicated adapters or open standards such as OPC. According to Advancis, more than 550 interface drivers are available. Your systems stay in use.

One interface, one logic

Instead of many programs with their own logins and alarm tones, your team works in one interface. That shortens training and prevents mistakes under stress.

Every message has its location

CAD drawings in DWG, DXF or DGN become interactive floor plans. Detectors, doors and cameras are where they really are.

Fully informed on the move

With the WinGuard app for iOS and Android, managers see states and events on the move and send photos with their location to the control room.

Built not to fail

Hot Standby and location servers keep the control room running, even if a server fails. We test the switchover during acceptance.

Grows with you

Four editions, from a single workstation to a networked control room across several sites, on the same platform.

One control system Four areas

  1. Security.4 subsystems · video, access, intrusion, perimeter
  2. Fire protection.1 subsystem · fire detection
  3. Building.2 subsystems · automation, analytics
  4. Communication.4 subsystems · intercom, alerting, IT, incident

One core connects them: WinGuard.

04 Why E&S Rose

An interface is not an integration.

The fact that a driver exists does not mean it does the right thing in an emergency. We answer these six questions before we connect anything.

01
Adapter

Report only, or control too?

Some adapters only deliver events, others allow commands such as opening a door or disabling an area. We check what your subsystem can really do in your version.

02
Connection

How is it connected?

TCP/IP, OPC or, for older systems, serial via RS232/RS485. Network planning, hardware and fault behaviour depend on this.

03
Licence

What does a data point cost?

WinGuard is licensed by data point units. A camera counts differently from a door or a detector. We work this out carefully before the quotation.

Priorities

What comes first?

Priorities from 1 to 999 and Event Routing decide which workstation sees what and when. We define this with your operations team.

Are the plans right?

CAD drawings become the graphics in which your team sees events. We clean up layers, rooms and symbols until every message is in the right place.

06 Applications

Where WinGuard makes the difference.

Typical scenarios, shown in simplified form. We define the procedures for your system together.

Industry & productionExample scenario

Fire alarm in the production hall

Detector H2-14Floor plan + SOPCameras zone 2Ventilation off

The detector is shown on the hall plan, the cameras of the zone are switched on and the fire brigade route card is ready. Building services switch off the ventilation of the section as specified.

Hospital & careExample scenario

Emergency call and access at night

Call room 312Door ward BPrioritiseAlert on-call staff

A patient emergency call and an open ward door arrive at the same time. WinGuard sorts both by priority and shows the night shift what matters first.

Administration & campusExample scenario

Several buildings from one control room

Area C setRoutingSouth gateCamera C-04

At night, one control room looks after all buildings. Events are routed to the responsible workstation; during the day, the sites take over themselves.

Infrastructure & data centreExample scenario

Technical fault with a security dimension

Cooling faultDoor DC-1ContextTicket created

An air-conditioning unit in the server room reports a fault, shortly afterwards the door opens. WinGuard links both into one situational overview and informs the right team.

Glossary and background →
What is WinGuard?

WinGuard is an open, vendor-neutral integration platform from Advancis. It brings together messages and control functions from security, building, communication and IT systems in one interface and guides operators through every event with response procedures.

What does PSIM mean?

PSIM stands for Physical Security Information Management. It refers to higher-level software that combines information from many physical security systems, correlates events and controls and documents how they are handled. WinGuard is such a PSIM system.

Do existing systems have to be replaced?

As a rule, no. WinGuard connects the existing systems via adapters. Which messages and control commands are possible depends on manufacturer, version and adapter. We check this before implementation.

Which WinGuard edition do we need?

That depends on the number of workstations, sites and availability requirements. Express suits single workstations, Basic several workstations, Professional highly available systems and Enterprise distributed sites.

What happens if the WinGuard server fails?

With standby servers, up to three servers keep the data in sync. If the active server fails, a standby server takes over its role during operation. We plan and test the switchover behaviour during acceptance.

Does E&S Rose support the migration to WinGuard X5?

Yes. We record the starting version, adapters and licences, plan backup, switchover sequence and fallback, and support the changeover through to the final check.

Do you provide maintenance and support for existing systems?

Yes, including systems we did not install ourselves. We start with a system check and then agree the scope of maintenance, availability and escalation.

Where does E&S Rose operate?

We are based in Buchs AG, in the canton of Aargau. We agree the area of operation with you for each project.
